ASRock today outed two new AMD A4 ‘Kabini’ motherboards – QC5000M-ITX/PH and the QC5000M.
The QC5000M-ITX/PH model is a mini-ITX motherboard while the QC5000M comes in the micro-ATX form factor. Both the boards come with passive metal heatsinks, all solid capacitor design, Realtek Gigabit LAN, and 7.1 channel HD Audio with ALC887 audio codec.
At the heart of the two motherboards is the two year old AMD FT3 Kabini A4-5000 quad-core SoC. Even though Kabini is old now, it is still a viable option for entry-level desktops and HTPCs. It delivers performance somewhere between Intel Bay Trail/Braswell and U series.
Although the two motherboards are nearly identical, the QC5000M does offer two extra PCI-Express 2.0 x1 slots. Display connectors include a D-Sub, HDMI, and a COM port. There are also two USB 3.0 5Gb/s ports for connecting your peripherals.
