Sandisk Ultra Dual Drive USB Type-C 128GB Review

I recently got a new macbook pro and I love it. I was ready to embrace a completely USB-C lifestyle but apparently the world wasn’t ready. Using adapters to go from USB A to USB C just sucks. it extends most of my usb drives to four inches out from my macbook. That is just unacceptable for me. I knew adapters where the apple way of life but there had to be a better alternative. That is exactly what the sandisk ultra usb-c dualdrive handled for me. The dualdrive has a connector for a USB-C and a USB-A on the other end. This lets you go from traditional USB to USB C by just using a little slider. The slider works great and feels solid, I’ve bought plenty of cheap chinese knockoff drives before and if it feels cheap it usually falls apart. This thing actually feels solid and I feel fine going from A to C multiple times a day. The sizes offered are also great but the small form factor and general usefulness of this device is why I love it.

The Sandisk Ultra has a mix of plastic and aluminum forming the casing but the good thing is that the casing is very thick. This makes the device very durable and therefore you shouldn’t need to worry about the occasional drop.

With capacity options all the way up to 256gb, there is a model for everyone. One thing that has been mentioned about the 256gb variant is that it gets quite warm when under heavy loads. This isn’t enough to cause concern but it may be worth taking into consideration.
